A Winning Start for Law and NMT No Limits Kawasaki

A Winning Start for Law and NMT No Limits Kawasaki

A bumper Easter Monday crowd at Donington Park saw opening round success for the NMT No Limits Kawasaki team as Mason Law took not only first ever pole position start but also his maiden win in the Pirelli National Superstock 600 Championship race.

The weekend began in earnest for the Kawasaki-supported team as both Law and team mate Jordan Weaving got to grips with the cool and overcast conditions on Saturday with the Benfleet man stamping his authority on proceedings from the opening laps as Weaving making good progress behind him. Second qualifying on Sunday afternoon brought home a repeat performance from Law to take his first pole position start while Weaving rode extremely well to take eleventh on the grid, running as high as tenth before being bumped back in the dying seconds.

The riders assembled on the grid in glorious sunshine ahead of the fourteen lap race with the NMT No Limits Kawasaki ZX-6R proudly heading the front row. As the lights went out it was Law with the expected holeshot that lead in to Redgate, however as the pack jostled for position through Hollywood, Jordan Weaving got caught up in another riders incident and crashed out of the race. Back at the front, the Andrew Pitt protege continued his blistering pace to fend off the advances of Currie and Francis, ticking off the laps to take the chequered flag and with it his debut championship win.

Team Manager Barry Boughton said "Wow what a weekend! right from setting up on Friday its been fabulous to see all the various parts of the team come together and our planning, preparation pay off with an excellent result having our first win. Both Paul and I are really pleased  with the way things have gone. We would like to thank the entire team, suppliers and sponsors as without them we couldn’t race.

It was great to have Nick Anderson with us on Friday and Saturday so the whole team could catch up and see his progress, he’ll be back real soon and is itching to make his mark in the Superstock 1000 class.

As for the Superstock 600 guys, what can we say, Mason had one of those perfect weekends, pole, win & fastest lap! Mason has worked incredibly hard over the winter months and that effort, focus and concentration has paid off this weekend. Jordan was having a great weekend improving all the time, gaining bike experience and making significant progress almost lap on lap. He was unfortunate to get caught up in those familiar opening race skirmishes which put him out of the race. The important thing is Jordan is absolutely fine and is desperate to get back on the bike which we will do as soon as possible. Tom Oliver, our satellite rider, has made good progress throughout the weekend and is starting to reap the benefits of our support and guidance. All in all a very positive and successful weekend for the NMT No Limits Kawasaki team”

Race winner Mason Law added "We really have had a fantastic weekend, topping every time sheet and I also recorded my first ever pole position. Although I have to say taking my first win really tops it all off from the very outset with the NMT No Limits Kawasaki squad, we have been fast, and coupled with having a great time off the track, I can safely say I will remember this Easter for a long time."
