Inventory Controller / Production Planner - Dubai

Williamson-Dickie Europe (WDE) has operations in the UK, Europe and the Middle East and is the Williamson-Dickie’s second largest division, employing over 500 people and operating in or selling into over 60 countries. Due to the dynamic growth of our business, WD Middle East is now in the position to appoint an Inventory Controller/Production Planner to manage stock within the Williamson-Dickie Middle East (WDME) warehouse facility effectively and efficiently. 

The Middle East operation is to service all customers via an elite Distribution Network across the GCC and MENA region.

This role is immediately available and would suit a candidate already based in Dubai or someone who could relocate quickly to Dubai.

Job Overview

The primary focus of the Inventory Controller/Production Planner, based in Dubai, is being responsible for building relationships with WDME distributors to gain a better understanding of their stock position. This, in turn, will allow the Inventory Controller/Production Planner to successfully accomplish stock turns and fill rates for WDME.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with key distributors to periodically supply relevant sell out data to WDME. Relevant sell out data includes: sales by item, inventory by item and contract information by item.
  • Work with Williamson-Dickie UK (WDUK) IT department to automate import and consolidation of this information.
  • Produce Sell-Out Analysis by distributor
  • Based on Sell-Out Analysis, work with WDME sales managers and distributors to produce meaningful sales and purchase forecast by distributor.
  • Consolidate distributor sales and purchase forecasts
  • Perform sell-in analysis (WDME sales history)
  • Based on consolidated distributor forecasts and Sell-In Analysis, generate WDME consolidated sales forecast by item.
  • Work with WDME sales management and supply chain team to update item database with key parameters, i.e. item status and production lead time.
  • Enter/alter sales forecast in existing forecasting tools to produce monthly purchasing proposals.
  • Lead monthly purchasing meetings and forward agreed buying proposals to WDUK buying team.
  • Interface with WDUK buying team to troubleshoot potential supply chain issues, i.e. production lead times being pushed out, etc.
  • Interface with WDUK buying team to make sure that suppliers will receive correct forecast

The ideal candidate would provide

  • High level computer skills in MS Office, especially Excel
  • Knowledge of established inventory control and advanced materials planning techniques
  • Excellent communication and organisational Skills
  • Keen eye for detail, skill acquisition through observation, practice and application
  • Able to travel to Saudi Arabia
  • Experience of working in a similar industry would be preferable as would prior experience of working with sales teams and forecasting
