Hopkins Vows to Fight Back At Brands Hatch GP Circuit

Dickies sponsored British Superbike rider, John Hopkins, vows to fight back at the Brands Hatch GP Circuit in mid July after a disappointing weekend at Knockhill. The TYCO Suzuki team competed in race 1, with Hopkins placing 9th and Josh Waters did not finish. In Race 2, Hopkins placed 11th while Waters placed 16th.

Due to heavy rain, Hopkins, also known as “Hopper”, left the track which impacted his starting placement. He comments on the weekend’s activity,

We were making good headway in and around the top five, but we made a horrible qualifying practice...I was right on the bubble of qualifying. So [I] could have done with staying out there and putting in a time as being so far back on the grid at a track like Knockhill, where it’s really difficult to pass, it was always going to make for a difficult race one and it did.

Hopkins comments on Brands circuit and the team’s strategy for the upcoming event,

Brands Hatch GP is a good circuit for me and I think the TYCO Suzuki will go really well there...It’s a matter of sticking it all together at Brands as we really do have the potential. We do need to improve in some small areas, but I’m going to be busting myself on the run up to Brands...”

Sales and Marketing Director of Dickies, Maurice Morton, comments on the weekend’s event, “

Although it was another difficult weekend for the team, I must say Knockhill 2014 was an excellent event all round. So well done to all involved.

In regards to the team’s performance, Morton adds,

“...A weekend that promised so much with Hopper’s pace throughout practice did not deliver what I feel we deserved. Everyone is working extremely hard and I know the package of the GSX-R and the riders are capable of so much more. Hopefully we can show our full potential very soon, starting at Brands Hatch.”

The 2011 BSB runner up John “Hopper” Hopkins is determined to fight back at Brands Hatch and vows,

The package is definitely there and the potential is there also. We just need to put it all together like I did in FP3 at Knockhill.”
