Dickies Support HAVAGO Festival

Dickies, the internationally renowned workwear brand, supported the first 'Havago' Festival which took place at the Forum, in the centre of Norwich on the 18th and 19th August.

The event was a celebration of creative skills and a platform for a truly diverse group of artists and craftspeople from around Norfolk to showcase their work together and inspire others to be creative and “have a go”.

There was more than forty different creative participants showing their work and offering the public a free of charge opportunity to try their hand, whilst encouraging and supporting students and new graduates with the chance to showcase their work for the first time and gain experience of engaging with the public.

Alison Atkins and Cordelia Spalding, artist and arts educators said: “We contacted 12 local schools and colleges with regards to a competition where the children were given a set of decorators overalls to transform and capture the theme and creative nature of the ‘Havago’ Festival. We wanted to give them a blank canvas and allow the children to creatively go to town to decorate and redesign their own set of bib and braces.  We then showed the resulting transformations in a fashion show during the Festival. We had a fantastic festival and great entries for Havago challenge. Thanks once again to Dickies for making the challenge possible.”

Dickies donated 12 painters’ bib and brace sets specifically designed for painting and decorating. With clip straps making it easy to get on and off, it features an angled chest pocket as well as a very large front pouch, which is perfect for storing your brushes and other essentials.
