Dickies Sponsored Mackenzie Takes 5th Place at Snetterton

Dickies sponsored athlete Taylor Mackenzie has taken 5th place at the Supersport Superbike race at Snetterton, Norfolk. The 15-lap motorbike race saw Mackenzie raised to 7th place after his 20-point haul let him to 5th place in the tournament. The Scottish rider rode his Tyco Suzuki GSX-R600 from the 3rd row of the grid to take his best result of the season so far.

Mackenzie's British superbike team mates, John Hopkins (USA) and Josh Waters (Australia), also competed in the Snetterton race. Hopkins took 9th place in race one and 7th place in race two. Hopkins was forced off the circuit before rejoining the race and finishing in 10th place.

Taylor Mackenzie commented on his race,

“I’m really pleased with that second Supersport race this weekend. The bike felt great; probably the most comfortable I’ve been on it all year. I’ve made a few little changes to my pre-race preparations and they have helped me come out of the blocks a lot quicker in the opening couple of laps. Thanks to the whole team for another great job this weekend and Knockhill now can’t come soon enough.”

Dickies Sales and Marketing Director, Maurice Morton, says of the races,

"It wasn't one of the teams' better days but we did find some postives from the weekend.

The team also made improvements and have been working hard to find the ideal set up for both riders and believe the weekend provided an useful insight for both John and Josh. Qualifying wasn’t ideal for John and he had work to do and although he made some mistakes, it was good to see him fighting back at the end of both races. He could quite easily have finished top six, which is encouraging.”

The next Superbike race is taking place at Knockhill, in Scotland, next weekend on 27th-29th of June. Keep your eye on our blog to stay up to date with the results.
