Somerset College Lecturers - smarter than most

Lecturers in the Wood Occupations and Decorative Operations departments of Taunton’s Somerset College of Arts & Technology are rightly proud of their knowledge and expertise in their crafts, but now they are taking a special pride in their appearance.

The team at the College, which is the leading provider of further and higher education in the county, has just been fully kitted out with sets of protective workwear from another big Somerset organisation, Dickies (UK) Limited which is based in Radstock, near Midsomer Norton.

Coveralls, multi-pocket trousers, painters’ bib-and-brace overalls and Polo shirts, all with embroidered names or job titles, as well as non-slip safety footwear, are included in the comprehensive, sponsorship package.

Handing over the kit to Barbara Bennett, Head of Division of Construction, Maurice Morton, sales and marketing director for Dickies said: “We are delighted to be able to come together with the College in this way as not only do we welcome the opportunity to give some practical help in these tough times, but also, we hope that when it’s time for the students to turn professional, they’ll remember our name and how smart their teachers were!”
