During 2008 Dickies (UK) are launching a number of new safety footwear lines. The first new products available to stockists are the Severn Super Safety Boot, the Tamar Super Safety Boot and the Neath Ladies’ Safety Shoe.

The Severn Super Safety Boot displays the robust construction and rugged design for which Dickies has become renowned. The upper of this quality ankle boot is made from durable leather with mesh trim, while the sturdy, dual density Polyurethane sole is shock absorbent. The boots are fitted with steel toe-caps conforming to EN345 (200 Joules), the current European standard for safety footwear. This classification will protect the toes from the impact of a 20Kg load falling from a height of 10.2 metres and withstand compression of up to 1.5 tonnes resting on the toe area. Added underfoot protection is supplied by the flexible steel midsole that reduces the risk of foot injuries caused by sharp objects penetrating the sole.

The Tamar Super Safety Boot features a water repellent nubuck leather upper with a toughened polyurethane sole that has an anti-static and energy absorbent heel. To help the wearer stay firmly on his feet the sole is also oil and slip resistant. Comfort features include a padded collar and tongue along with a breathable lining. Once again protection is provided by a regulation steel toe-cap and a flexible steel midsole for underfoot protection.

With more women entering the building trades, Dickies has expanded its range of safety footwear for women with the Neath Ladies’ Safety Shoe. This sturdy lace-up shoe features a leather upper, and a robust Polyurethane slip resistant sole. Comfort is not overlooked either with a breathable lining combining with a padded collar and tongue; while the regulation steel toe-cap offers excellent on site protection.

Dickies will be launching more new safety footwear during 2008.
