From the popular Eisenhower range comes the Eisenhower Wicking Polo Shirt which is made from Polyester/cotton with CoolDry® wicking properties. A modern technical fabric CoolDry® is widely used in the manufacture of sportswear and draws moisture away from the body, spreading it out on the outside of the fabric where it quickly evaporates, keeping the wearer cool and dry. The Eisenhower Wicking Polo Shirt eliminates the uncomfortable feeling caused by a wet, clammy shirt clinging to the body.

Wearing shorts is one way of keeping cool on site and Dickies produce three styles of shorts, all designed to provide a functional capability in addition to enhancing summer comfort. The Redhawk Cargo Shorts are made from a durable Polyester/cotton fabric and feature a key fob fitted to the waistband, a cargo style pocket on each leg with one incorporating a mobile phone pocket, two rear pockets with velcro fastening and two side pockets. The Eisenhower multi-pocket shorts have a cargo pocket on the left leg divided in to sections and with a stud-fastening flap; two front patch pockets with bellow bottoms; and two rear patch pockets.

Staying cool on site is important but safety remains the priority. To meet this crucial factor Dickies also include a pair of high Visibility Safety Shorts in its range conforming to EN471 class 1. Other garments suitable for summer include the High Visibility Safety Polo Shirt, Safety Waistcoat and Safety T-Shirt all meeting the EN471 Class 2 standard. Furthermore, all three garments are made from 100% Polyester. Polyester retains far less moisture than cotton (Polyester 0.4%: cotton 7%), therefore does not become heavy and uncomfortable with perspiration.

Regardless of how hot it is safety footwear must be worn on site. Dickies utilises modern, breathable fabrics as linings in many of its safety footwear products to improve comfort. Cambrelle and Tybrelle are carefully engineered synthetic materials with innumerable microscopic air spaces that greatly improve air circulation in safety footwear. Moisture is drawn away from the foot and stored in the lining until it evaporates after the boot is taken off. These modern lining materials are so effective they are capable of storing up to three-and-a-half times their own weight in moisture, resulting in cooler, drier, more comfortable feet.
